EVENT ALERT: 'How To Make Learning Work' 18th February 2009

The NCPP and the National College of Ireland are once again joining forces to co-host a Workplace Learning Seminar that will be of particular interest to HR managers, learning and training specialists, educators and employee representatives in these increasingly uncertain and challenging times.

'How To Make Learning Work' takes place from 09:00-13:30 on Wednesday, 18th February 2009, at the NCI campus, Mayor Street (IFSC), Dublin 1.

The keynote speakers are Knud Illeris, Professor of Lifelong Learning at the Danish University of Education in Copenhagen, and Birgitte Simonsen, Director of the Danish Centre for Youth Research.

Professor Illeris is one of Europe's leading thinkers in the field of workplace and lifelong learning.  Through his work, the relevance of work-related learning has grown in prominence in Denmark and beyond.

Professor Simonsen specialises in young people's engagement and learning for work, and her presentation will offer new insights into this critical area for educators and trainers.

The seminar will also feature several workplace vignettes - short insights from learners, trainers and employers on good practice for skills development - and a panel discussion to frame these stories and insights in an Irish context.
