EVENT ALERT: NCPP/NCI "Learning At Work" Seminar - 15 May 2008
The NCPP and the National College of Ireland (NCI) have joined forces to host a special one-day Seminar on the subject of 'Learning At Work: Practical Responses to the Future Skills Challenge'.
The Seminar takes place from 10:30-16:30 on Thursday, 15 May 2008, at NCI's IFSC premises in Mayor Street, Dublin 1.
It will be of particular interest to practitioners with responsibility for the development of people in the workplace, including HR managers, training professionals, learning and development managers, and trade union representatives.
The Seminar will focus on:
- How to organise learning opportunities in the workplace
- Examples from public and private-sector workplace initiatives
- What motivates people to take up skills courses?
- How to nurture a learning culture in your organisation
- The latest approaches to e-learning and blended learning in the workplace
A series of practical case studies will also be presentated, providing an opportunity for participants to debate and discuss innovative responses to tackling the challenge of future skills needs.
Speakers include Lucy Fallon-Byrne (Director, NCPP), Leo Casey (Centre for Research and Innovation in Learning and Teaching) and Professor Chip Bruce (NCI).
Seán Haughey, TD, Minister for Lifelong Learning at the Department of Education and Science, will also address the Seminar, and launch an NCPP promotional video highlighting examples of good practice in workplace learning.
